About Me
I am a software engineer who is driven by the desire to understand how things work. My early education was mostly in application level software, but over time I have moved closer and closer to hardware. In college, I double majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, because I wasn't satisfied writing code if I didn't understand how a computer really works. Some of my favorite classes were in areas of computer architecture, embedded systems, and operating systems. I also find the topics of compilers and security fascinating.
At the present, I mostly work on low level software using C, C++ and assembly. On occasion, I write simple automation and parsing scripts in higher level languages, such as Perl or Python. I have also dabbled web development and app development, though this is mostly outside of work.
Other than programming, I also enjoy amateur photography. I am self taught using borrowed DLSRs, and my favorite subjects are landscapes and nature. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors, particularly hiking in the mountains.
